Aether to provide public-safety software to Ohio county

OWINGS MILLS, Md.-Aether Systems Inc. will provide Hamilton County, Ohio, with wireless public-safety software and systems in a contract valued at $7.8 million.

The project will encompass the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Cincinnati and 42 other agencies in Hamilton County. As part of the new system, Aether’s PacketCluster, Patrol and PacketWriter systems will be installed in more than 650 patrol vehicles, giving law enforcement officials immediate wireless access to criminal records, dispatch, report-writing and messaging applications.

The system is expected to be rolled out completely within two to three years.
