PARIS-Webraska Mobile Technologies has received an additional investment of $5.26 million from its current investors. The company said the capital will be used to fund growth opportunities in Webraska’s core LBS, telematics and automotive markets and in the growing mobile enterprise market. Apax Partners, Webraska’s largest shareholder, is leading this round, with support from Philips Electronics, Infineon and Openwave.
In other investment news, Tower Semiconductor, an Israeli company, said it received $13.4 million of the aggregate $305 million investment committed to the Fab 2 project by its partners. The company said the investment represents the first portion of the revised Milestone 5 investment approved last week by Tower’s shareholders. Tower Semiconductor Ltd. is a pure-play independent wafer foundry.
