SAN FRANCISCO-Sanyo is using Aplix Corp.’s JBlend Java virtual machine in its SCP-8100 wireless handset with a built-in camera phone. The handset, which enables users to send a 10-second voice memo with a picture, is on sale in the United States.
Aplix’s Jblend platform has been included in 43 phone models from 11 manufacturers, and Jblend technology has been included in more than 20 million units of mobile phones and other home electronics devices, the company said.
