Stolen Cricket phones recovered

MIAMI-Nearly $1 million worth of Nokia Corp. wireless handsets destined for Leap Wireless International Inc.’s Cricket service were recovered in Florida after having been reported stolen from an Advantage Wireless retail outlet in Colorado last weekend.

The nearly 11,000 phones were recovered after two men were stopped driving a tractor trailer full of wireless phones on Interstate 10 in Florida and were believed to be part of a larger stolen merchandise ring centered in Southern Florida. Authorities noted the handsets were likely to have been shipped overseas through a Florida port.
