SUNNYVALE, Calif.-Pen&Internet L.L.C. and China’s dopod Communication Corp. have signed an original equipment manufacturer agreement in which all dopod Pocket PC phones will include Pen&Internet’s riteMail handwritten messaging technology.
“With its high-quality electronic ink and easy user interface, riteMail clearly has a great mass market interest in China,” said Charles Yang, chief executive officer and president of dopod. “I believe this ‘handwritten messaging’ will become the next step in [multimedia messaging service] for the Chinese markets.”
Dopod handsets are sold throughout China and wireless connectivity is provided through China Mobile. riteMail is available in more than 100 countries and supports more than 50 languages.
