BEDMINSTER, N.J.-Verizon Wireless said it will sponsor the Lollapalooza 2003 Concert Tour, which is scheduled to begin a nationwide 30-show tour July 5 in Indianapolis.
The carrier said it will be on site with text messaging contests, giveaways and interactive wireless demonstrations, and will allow customers to take advantage of text message alerts and chats and participate in contests to win concert ticket upgrades and backstage passes.
“The Lollapalooza sponsorship gives Verizon Wireless an opportunity to showcase the amazing advances we have made in wireless technology to a tech-savvy audience,” said Bill Stone, vice president of marketing at Verizon Wireless. “This 2003 tour is one of the most exciting young adult events of the year and provides an incredible venue where we can interact with one of the most important market segments.”
