MILPITAS, Calif.-Intersil Corp. and Vixs said they have agreed to work together to create a single set of chips that will enable developers to improve the transmission of video over wireless networks.

This will include allowing consumers to share resources such as printers and exchange e-mail and files through remote devices. The companies said their collaboration furthers the recent announcement of 17 companies to create a common platform for home networking and entertainment devices.
