SANTA CLARA, Calif.-Intel Corp. said it plans to develop silicon products based on the 802.16a standard, which covers wireless metropolitan networks. The company has signed an agreement with Israel-based Alvarion Ltd. to produce the products.
“Products based on 802.16a can provide wireless broadband connectivity to businesses with guaranteed levels of service required for enterprise applications and to homes for residential broadband applications,” said Intel.
