WALL, N.J.-Centennial Communications Corp., which operates wireless networks in the United States and the Caribbean, said it added 9,800 net customers during its fourth fiscal quarter that ended May 31 compared with 24,200 subscribers the company added during the same quarter last year. For the year, Centennial added 32,700 net customers compared with 143,700 subscriber additions last year.
Centennial reported $191.1 million in fourth-quarter revenue, which was a drop from the $191.6 million the company reported during the fourth quarter of last year. For the year, Centennial reported an increase in total revenues from $715.9 million last year to $745.7 million this year.
Despite the drop in revenues during the fourth quarter, Centennial reported an increase in net income from a loss of $35.4 million during the fourth quarter of 2002, a loss of 37 cents per share, to a profit of $61.4 million this year, a return of 64 cents per share. Net losses for the year increased from $77.5 million in 2002, a loss of 81 cents per share, to a loss of $111.9 million this year, or a loss of $1.17 per share.
