LITTLE ROCK, Ark.-Regional telecommunications provider Alltel Corp. reported $1.2 billion in wireless revenues during the second quarter of this year, which was a 19-percent increase compared with the $1 billion in wireless revenues the company posted during the second quarter of 2002. Wireless income also increased 17 percent during the same timeframe from $224.3 million last year to $262 million this year.
Alltel said it added 111,411 wireless customers during the second quarter, including 30,413 subscribers added through acquisitions compared with 80,197 subscriber additions during the second quarter of 2002. The increased customer growth came despite an increase in customer churn from 2.35 percent last year to 2.45 percent this year.
