PARIS-French supplier Alcatel Corp. said Thailand’s TA Orange signed a $100 million contract with Alcatel for a network enhancement.
Alcatel will supply base stations and related equipment to increase coverage and capacity in Bangkok and the provinces by January. The contract also includes the extension of TA Orange’s GPRS core network and intelligent network platforms, value-added services and related services.
A new billing system will allow TA Orange to charge postpaid and prepaid users for voice and data services, Alcatel said.
