BELLEVUE, Wash.-Western Wireless Corp. reported $359.2 million in total revenues during the second quarter compared with $290.8 million posted during the second quarter of 2002. Net income also increased from a loss of $27.4 million last year, a loss of 35 cents per share, to a gain of $40.3 million this year, a return of 49 cents per share.
Western Wireless’ revenue growth was bolstered by an increase in domestic customer additions from 5,800 subscribers last year to 15,100 this year. Western Wireless also posted an increase in average revenue per user from $43.59 during the second quarter of last year to $47.37 this year and stable customer churn at 2.4 percent.
