Sprint announces new Samsung device

KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Sprint PCS announced it will begin selling the new SPH-i500 mobile phone/personal digital assistant from Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., which features the Palm Inc. operating system. The device will sell for $600.

Separately, Samsung announced a licensing deal for Sony Corp.’s Memory Stick, and Samsung said it will begin in-house manufacturing and sales of Memory Stick media starting in the third quarter.

Finally, Siemens introduced its latest camera phone, the ST55, which features a color screen and 4x zoom capability.
