STOCKHOLM, Sweden-L.M. Ericsson said it has signed a $600 million contract to supply hardware and software for the GSM network of Guangdong province in China operated by China Mobile.
“We are honored to be awarded this major agreement by Guangdong Mobile, which is the most encouraging confirmation of the strategic partnership between both parties,” said Carl-Henric Svanberg, president and chief executive officer of Ericsson.
The contract will be completed in 2004, according to Ericsson.
