SANTA MONICA, Calif.-High-speed wireless Internet service provider Boingo Wireless Inc. announced its roaming system will include more than 2,600 hot-spot locations within the next three months.
A new agreement with STSN Inc., which provides wired and wireless high-speed Internet access at hotels and conference centers worldwide, accounts for 425 of the new hot spots and increases Boingo’s hotel footprint by 70 percent.
In all, Boingo’s system now includes approximately 1,300 hotels, 600 cafes, 30 airports and nine convention centers in 15 countries. More than 1,400 locations are live now, and the rest are expected to be live within the next 90 days.
Wayport, another provider of Wi-Fi wireless and wired high-speed Internet access, announced it will provide high-speed Internet service in 11 hotels owned by FelCor Lodging Trust.
Through the deal with FelCor, Wayport will provide access in guestrooms, meeting facilities and common areas in hotels, including the Doubletree, Sheraton and Hampton Inn in several cities. Wayport currently offers service in more than 650 locations, including 565 hotels, 13 airports and 75 San Francisco-San Jose, Calif., area McDonald’s restaurants.
