NYPD uses iXP services for E911

NEW YORK-iXP Corp., a national systems integration and consulting company serving public-safety markets, said it won a contract from the New York City Police Department for program management and location-verification services for the city’s wireless 911 initiative.

The system will allow dispatchers to obtain the approximate location of wireless 911 callers, said the company. It will work with both handset- and network-based technologies.

In addition to program management and system integration, iXP said it will provide mapping software for the system.
