Verizon Wireless offers iPhonebook for picture messaging

BEDMINSTER, N.J.-Verizon Wireless announced iPhonebook will be available with its Get It Now service for the LG VX6000 handset, allowing customers to use their wireless phones to e-mail pictures.

With iPhonebook, users can download contact phone numbers and e-mail addresses directly from Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express or Palm Desktop Personal Information Manager (PIM) to store in Get It Now-enabled phones. Then when a picture is taken, it can be sent to any e-mail address stored in the phone.

“Our Get It Now service, including our picture messaging service, gives our customers innovative, fun and useful applications they can access directly from their wireless phones,” said Jim Straight, vice president of wireless Internet and multimedia services for Verizon Wireless. ‘The iPhonebook service on the LG VX6000 brings an exciting new dimension to picture messaging by helping our customers use their contact lists to more easily send pictures.”
