BERLIN-German wireless provider T-Mobile, which is a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom AG, is reportedly pushing off the launch of UMTS services until next year due to technical issues with handsets, according to a German newspaper. DT Chairman Kai-Uwe Ricke had previously announced that T-Mobile would launch UMTS services during the third quarter of this year.
“We no longer expect a UMTS handset to become available in Germany this year that meets T-Mobile’s requirements,” an unnamed source told German newspaper Tagesspiegel.
