SCHAUMBURG, Ill.-Motorola Inc. said it is offering sensors that interoperate with the ZigBee protocol in environments as diverse as a factory floor to a game console in the family room.
“Wireless sensor networks should obtain real-time data on systems or devices without requiring physical contact, enabling remote monitoring and reduced labor costs,” said the company, adding that the sensors use a technology with the ability to sense, process and/or control the surrounding environment.
Motorola also said it is in negotiations regarding Tundra Semiconductor acquiring its PowerPC host bridge product.
