LOWELL, Mass.-M/A-COM Inc. has been awarded an $11 million contract by the U.S. Army to deploy and link critical communications to 10 Army installations, including more than 5,000 Army base personnel, in and around the National Capital Region (NCR).
Under the contract, M/A-COM will provide a land mobile radio system, consisting of its P25IP Trunked IP Communications System and its NetworkFirst Interoperability System. The contract also calls for the company to provide site preparation, equipment, implementation, testing and maintenance. General Dynamics Wireless Services will serve as the subcontractor.
The M/A-COM network will also facilitate interoperable communications with 60 civilian public-safety agencies in the area.
