BELLEVUE, Wash.-Dartmouth College is deploying a campus-wide wireless Internet Protocol network to serve its 13,000 students, faculty and staff.
Initially, the network will allow students to wirelessly access data with notebook computers, and by the end of the year, the school plans to fully deploy voice-over-IP on the network to enable wireless voice communications as well. TeleSym Inc.’s SymPhone System software for voice calling on wireless networks will be used in the network.
The announcement comes in conjunction with the college’s conference “Unleashed: The Summit on Wireless and Mobile Computing.”
