Scientists say water could power cell phones

ALBERTA, Canada-Some scientists have reported that wireless handhelds can use water batteries rather than the technology currently available.

According to research by the Institute of Physics Journal, Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering, a team of scientists at the University of Alberta have created a new source of clean non-polluting electric power with a variety of possible uses.

“This discovery has a huge number of possible applications,” said Professor Larry Kostiuk, who co-led the research.
