TOKYO-Japanese vendor NEC Corp. said it enjoyed a 65-percent leap in its quarterly profits with a net income of $55.41 million on strong phone sales.
In the same period, profit was $33.6 million. Its revenues fell 8 percent to $1.63 billion.
“Demand is extremely strong for phones and digital audio-visual products,” NEC Electronics President Kaoru Tosaka said.
