ROCKVILLE, Md.-3e Technologies International (3eTI), which provides solutions for secure wireless networking, said its 3e-521NP, 3e-530NP and 3e-522FIPS are the first 802.11 wireless access points to be FIPS 140-2 validated.
FIPS 140-2 validation ensures compliance with U.S. and Canadian government security standards established by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology and the Canadian Communications Security Establishment. The validation assures a level of security required by government agencies, including the department of defense, as well as a growing number of enterprise-class customers.
“3eTI is the only provider of FIPS 140-2 access points which meet stringent military specs, have a ruggedized encasement and offer extended range with high throughput-capabilities which close the lid on wireless networking vulnerabilities,” explained Jim Pilgrim, 3eTI’s senior director of wireless business. “FIPS 140-2 validation of our products hardens WLAN security choices available to government organizations, all branches of the military and security-minded businesses.”
