BELGRADE, Serbia-Serbia’s Telekom Srbija a.d. has chosen Alvarion Ltd. and Airspan Networks Inc. as suppliers for the rebuilding of its telecommunications infrastructure. The company plans to deploy more than 100,000 new telephony and data lines using wireless last-mile solutions.
“Serbia’s war-torn infrastructure and mountainous terrain make it a particular challenge to deploy telecommunications services,” explained Srdjan Bogosavljevic of Srbija. “Sophisticated wireless technologies from these two vendors will enable us to quickly and affordably build new infrastructure and launch new services in all regions.”
