BCGI investors file lawsuit

NEW YORK-Purchasers of Boston Communications Group Inc.’s publicly traded securities between June 12, 2003, and July 16, 2003, have filed a class-action lawsuit against BCGI alleging the company issued false and misleading statements concerning its business.

BCGI attempted to reassure investors that contract negotiations with Verizon Wireless and other customers were continuing as planned following analyst concerns about the company’s ability to maintain relationships with its primary customers. But on July 17, 2003, Verizon Wireless announced it would in-source its services, causing shares of BCGI to fall 40 percent.

The Law Firm of Cauley Geller Bowman & Rudman L.L.P. said purchasers of BCGI securities between the aforementioned dates can join the class action online at the firm’s Web site.
