LightSurf to manage Bell Mobility photo service

TORONTO-Bell Mobility said it will sell the new Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. SPH-a600 camera phone, and that it will offer a picture-sharing service through a new deal with camera-phone technology company LightSurf.

Using Bell Mobility’s Picture Messaging service, customers will be able to send and share pictures and attach a text message and a 10-second voice memo to the message. Pictures can also use a free online album that stores up to 250 pictures for sorting and enhancing.

“Bell Mobility brings people together through voice, text and now pictures,” said Kelly Dixon, the carrier’s vice president of consumer marketing. “By delivering picture messaging to our customers, we’re helping them share important moments as they happen with the friends and family who can’t be there.”

LightSurf also manages Sprint PCS’ picture-sharing service.
