Thai operator launches IM service over BREW

BOSTON-MessageVine said Thai mobile operator Hutchison CAT Wireless MultiMedia will use its technology to deploy instant messaging and presence services on its CDMA2000 1x network.

Hutch is offering the IM application through its recently launched HutchPlay service, which offers a variety of downloadable applications via Qualcomm Inc.’s Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless platform.

“The MessageVine IM Access application is an important addition to our mobile application offering,” said Stephen Sun, president and chief executive officer of Hutch. “Instant messaging is an ideal way for our customers to communicate with their friends and colleagues wherever they are.”
