MURRAY HILL, N.J.-Lucent Technologies Inc. said it has unveiled a solution to enable service providers to manage customer data such as subscriber profiles and user location.
The platform, known as Flexent super-distributed home location register, also allows customers to authenticate users for both voice and data in third-generation networks, according to the company. It is also backward compatible to GSM/GPRS networks, Lucent said.
“The solution enables mobile operators to increase revenue opportunities by allowing them to introduce new voice and high-speed data services quickly and support a wide range of capabilities that HLR systems previously couldn’t support,” said Roger Derrien, vice president of UMTS and intelligent networks products management for Lucent’s Mobility Solutions Group.
