BEDMINSTER, N.J.-Verizon Wireless received a pair of 3G CDMA Industry Achievement Awards from the CDMA Development Group, including industry leadership and service innovation.
The CDG awarded the industry leadership to Richard Lynch, Verizon Wireless executive vice president and chief technical officer, in recognition of his role in the launch of both CDMA2000 and 1x EV-DO services. The service innovation award was given to the carrier for the implementation of open standards multimedia messaging service and the deployment of 1x EV-DO services in San Diego and Washington, D.C.
