NEW YORK-In a bid to cut costs, Nokia Corp said it has signed a five-year, $253.9 million deal to outsource its information technology services to IBM Corp.
The contract will move about 430 Nokia staff to IBM in 36 countries, according to the company.
“We have chosen to outsource the management of our desktop IT environment as part of an initiative to focus on core business infrastructure and IT activities and to improve service flexibility and cost efficiency, enabling a higher level of business agility,” said Gordon Jack, vice president, business infrastructure for Nokia.
