OBERHAUSEN, Germany and LONDON-Two wireless carriers in Thailand made enhancements to their messaging services.
German messaging company ConVisual said Thailand’s largest mobile operator AIS has launched its VisualTXT mobile messaging service, which turns short messaging service messages into graphics and animations with sound.
AIS launched the service under the name Magic Message.
The service allows users to insert an SMS and a recipient’s mobile number, then send it to an AIS short code. The recipient will immediately receive an animated picture or photo with sound, along with the text message, on a multimedia messaging service-capable phone.
In addition, LogicaCMG said TA Orange, which has 1.7 million subscribers in Thailand, implemented its short message service center, geared to support the increasing SMS traffic on the carrier’s network.
“Using this new messaging architecture, TA Orange will be able to support peaks in SMS traffic while maintaining high levels of customers service,” said Steve Hopcraft, chief technical officer of TA Orange.
