BEDMINSTER, N.J.-Verizon Wireless bolstered its phone offerings as well as its wireless data application listings through two new deals.
First, the nation’s largest carrier announced it will sell the new VX4500 phone from LG Electronics Co. Ltd. for $90 with a two-year agreement. The LG VX4500 is an updated version of the popular VX4400 and features a two-way speaker phone, voice recognition and a color screen.
Separately, Verizon announced it will sell its new Remo application from wireless content company Xpherix Corp. The downloadable BREW application allows phone users to access e-mail, calendar and contact information stored on their desktop computers. The new Remo application works with POP e-mail services and Microsoft Corp.’s Outlook software and is part of Verizon’s push to attract more enterprise users.
Finally, Verizon said it will offer downloadable FOX Sports Mobile and FOX Sports Football 2004 applications, just in time for the Superbowl.
