TeliaSonera Sweden launches 3G system

SWEDEN-TeliaSonera Sweden has launched its nationwide Telia GO third-generation network.

Telia GO will provide TeliaSonera customers with access to mobile Internet at broadband speeds and access to video calling on certain 3G handsets for a charge. In addition, the 3G network will feature a new interface, improved e-mail and new and faster services including news, sports and video clips. TeliaSonera subscribers will be able to use both the new 3G network and the carrier’s existing GSM network, with no difference in pricing when they roam between the two.

“Our services are primarily focused on simplicity and good service,” explained Marie Ehrling, president of TeliaSonera Sweden. “That is why we are not differentiating between 3G and GSM. Whether our customers use their mobile phones to make calls or to send e-mail or pay bills, they should never have to wonder which network they are using.”
