PHILADELPHIA-AT&T Wireless Services Inc. and NPower, a national network of local nonprofits focused on technology, announced a partnership aimed at educating nonprofits on how to use wireless technology to enhance community services.
Through the partnership, the companies will host workshops to educate nonprofits on wireless technology. In addition, the companies will offer the AT&T Wireless Community Connections Award, a grant program to give nonprofits the resources necessary to apply wireless technology to their communities.
“Wireless technology is underutilized in the nonprofit sector,” said Richard Brown, AT&T Wireless’ director of corporate philanthropy. “From real-time inventorying in a food bank to text messaging critical data to volunteers in the field, these workshops and grants will enable nonprofits to find creative, new ways of delivering services to their communities.”
