WASHINGTON-Federal Communications Commission Chairman Michael Powell will deliver the keynote address at the Wireless Communications Association’s 2004 conference taking place June 3 in Washington, D.C.
“Our industry and its consumers deeply appreciate Chairman Powell’s leadership of the Federal Communications Commission’s efforts to enable broadband,” said Andrew Kreig, WCA’s president. “His initiatives are especially timely after President Bush announced last week a goal of broadband deployments nationwide, as endorsed by numerous Senators. Emerging wireless broadband systems are vital to this strategy because they can provide so cost effectively the entire range of consumer, educational and high-performance business services.”
WCA has scheduled 140 speakers for the event and expects attendance of nearly 2,000 people.
