VANCOUVER, British Columbia-Infowave Software Inc.’s Telispark Mobile Enterprise solution has been chosen by Ontario’s Hydro One Networks Inc., which owns and operates a large electricity transmission and distribution system.
Hydro One will use the solution, consisting of mWorkManager, mAsset and mInspect applications, to manage wireless handheld devices from which its technicians collect and access asset information from the field.
“With the large quantity of assets required by utility companies, it can often seem a daunting task to maintain, service and track all of the equipment in a manner that maximizes capital investments,” said Ian McIntyre of Hydro One. “Infowave’s solution enabled us to meet all of our requirements by providing substation techs with the ability to collect asset data that accurately reflects the condition of those assets, helping us to plan more effectively and substantiate rate submissions.”
