LUND, Sweden-Scalado AB announced it acquired the imaging technology MPES from TAT AB. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Scalado said the technology will allow it to offer a superior imaging application platform to wireless handset makers that will cut their hardware costs and shorten time to market. The company said the technology makes it possible to capture, manipulate and manage high-resolution images on both advanced and constrained wireless devices.
“This is the second strategic partnership Scalado has entered in a short period of time. The previously announced alliance with Open Bit ensures availability to market-leading imaging applications for Symbian OS-based smart phones and access to several sales channels. The alliance with TAT will ensure high-performing imaging technologies in order for Scalado to become the global leader in mobile imaging,” said Mats Jacobson, the company’s chief executive officer.
