SAN JOSE, Calif.-Following an announcement of the companies’ new teaming, LG Electronics said it will ship its first phone using DoOnGo Technologies Inc. technology for China Unicom. The phone uses DoOnGo’s over-the-air repair software for remote firmware updates.
“LG has always been at the forefront of technology, constantly looking for innovative ways to improve our products and solutions, thus improving the experience for our customers,” said Hee-Bong Park, an LG researcher. “With handsets becoming more sophisticated, we realize the challenges involved in sending bug fixes and feature upgrades over the air. Working with DoOnGo will allow us to fix problems and offer feature upgrades to our customers quickly and cost effectively, all while continuing to offer the same high level of customer service that we are known for.”
China Unicom is scheduled to launch DoOnGo’s OTA technology in the second half of this year.
