Nextel to launch new NASCAR TV ads

RESTON, Va.-Capitalizing on its 10-year, $750 million sponsorship of the NASCAR racing series, Nextel Communications Inc. said it plans to launch the second phase of its NASCAR Nextel Cup Series advertising May 30 with television spots featuring series champions Jeff Gordon and Matt Kenseth, who have combined for five race wins this year.

The commercials are scheduled to debut on FOX during the Coca-Cola 600 race and run primarily on FOX, NBC, TNT and Speed Channel, as well as appear on Nextel Vision jumbotrons located at the race track.
