SAN JOSE, Calif.-WJ Communications Inc. said it will acquire the wireless infrastructure business and associated assets of EiC Corp.
WJ Communications designs and supplies radio-frequency semiconductors and multichip modules, while EiC designs, develops, makes and sells proprietary radio-integrated circuits.
“Through this acquisition, we expect to achieve additional scale and improving operating margins,” said Michael Farese, chief executive officer and president of WJ Communications. “Moving forward, we will evaluate the best combination of internal and outsourced production to ensure the best long-term business model for the company to meet our stated goal of 55 percent greater gross margins and profitability.”
