Siemens AG said current head of strategy and communications Klaus Kleinfeld would replace Heinrich von Pierer as president and chief executive officer of the infrastructure provider next January as part of what the company described as a generation change for its top management. Kleinfeld was head of Siemens’ U.S. operations prior to his current position.
Siemens noted that von Pierer would replace Karl-Hermann Baumann on the company’s supervisory board following the management change.
Siemens also reported it plans to merge its IC Mobile and IC Networks Groups Oct. 1, and Lothar Pauly, who is currently a member of the group executive management of IC Mobile, would run the new combined entity.
