VANCOUVER, British Columbia-Sierra Wireless said the Voq Professional Phone will be available to resellers in North America through distribution agreements with CellStar and Brightpoint North America L.P., a subsidiary of Brightpoint Inc., following the completion of network compatibility testing on AT&T Wireless Services Inc.’s GSM/GPRS network.

“With the Voq Professional Phone, mobile professionals can have their phone, e-mail, calendar, contacts and mission-critical company information at their fingertips, meaning our resellers can bring real value to their business customers.”
The device should be commercially available to North American customers this month. Pricing was not disclosed.
In addition, the Voq Professional Phone will be available in the Netherlands through KPN’s distribution channels. The phone will retail there for about $120, in combination with a two-year Business Select subscription and a 5Mb GPRS data package.
The Voq device, designed for mobile professionals, serves as a mobile phone, personal messaging device and personal digital assistant. It includes a flip-open QWERTY thumb pad, Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 software and solutions for personal and corporate e-mail.
