MELBOURNE, Australia-Australian carrier Telstra said it plans to boost network capacity and enable high-speed services in capital cities across the country, using Nortel Networks CDMA2000 1x EV-DO equipment.
“With CDMA20000 1x EV-DO, Telstra will be in a position to offer Australian businesses mobile broadband, which has the capacity to provide the fastest third-generation data experience of any of Australia’s cellular networks,” said Steve Wood, president of Nortel Networks in Australia and New Zealand.
The value of the contract was not disclosed.
