DALLAS-Focusing on the personalization of wireless services, Preferred Voice Inc. has released an enhanced version of its “My Phone Services” Mobile Personalization Services Suite.
“The wireless data market is similar to the traditional software industry-users want integration of their products and ease of use,” said Latif Nathani, chief executive officer of PVI. “Recent studies have shown that the majority of wireless minutes go unused because the adoption rates for mobile applications have been slow. There needs to be a convergence of mobile applications and consumer software expertise, and PVI is leading that convergence with our new suite.”
Applications in PVI’s new software suite include Advanced Network Address Book, Network Voice Activated Dialing, Push2Connect, SmartLine and Rockin’ Ringback.
The network address book, accessible via the Internet as well as the phone, allows users to manage information, services and preferences in a personal database. Voice activated dialing is integrated with the address book, allowing subscribers to reach contacts via voice.
SmartLine allows users to accept or block calls from certain callers based on day of the week or time of the day, and Push2Connect allows for one-touch conference calls and messaging to pre-set groups.
Rockin’ Ringback is a completely new service that allows users to select an audio file for callers to listen to while the phone rings. Users can assign specific songs to specific callers or choose certain songs to play on a particular day of the week or time of the day.
PVI currently has 19 U.S. second- and third-tier wireless carrier partners. Among the carriers are Alltel, Midwest Wireless, Triton PCS and Dobson Cellular Systems. The company also plans to target first-tier carriers with the enhanced services suite.
