HOUSTON-Space Data Corp., known for its balloon-based SkySite Network, announced it plans to extend its services to the Gulf of Mexico, enabling low- to medium-data-rate wireless communications for various offshore, near-shore and onshore applications.
“There are thousands of isolated structures and service vessels in the Gulf that will benefit from affordable wide-area data services combined with cost-effective monitoring and GPS tracking equipment,” said Mark Davis, director of marketing for Space Data. “In addition to affordability, we offer the coverage ubiquity of satellite systems but at a frequency (900 MHz) that enables dependable and reliable all-weather operations.”
