SAN DIEGO-Cricket Communications Inc. will deploy Comverse’s Multimedia Messaging Service Center to offer content to its 1.5 million customers.
In addition to offering content to state-of-the-art handsets, the service will allow users whose phones don’t support MMS to experience new services via a branded Web interface, allowing them to send, receive and store messages, Cricket said.
“We are dedicated to providing our customers with the most robust and innovative applications available in the market at an affordable price,” said Bill Freeman, chief executive officer of Cricket’s parent company, Leap Wireless International Inc. “Comverse MMSC enables us to not only enhance our core Cricket service with additional products, but also offer exciting content that will make the Cricket experience even more functional, entertaining and fun.”
Cricket’s CDMA network provides service to customers in 39 markets in 20 states across the United States.
