InHand releases reference platform with Intel processor

BOSTON-InHand Electronics Inc. released its new Advanced Technology Platform, the ATP-27X, a hardware/software reference platform based on Intel’s PXA270 embedded microprocessor that incorporates InHand’s power management technologies.

According to InHand, the ATP-27X is targeted at top-tier original equipment manufacturers aiming to get a head start on designing next-generation wireless products. “Whereas InHand’s popular Elf3 and Fingertip3 reference platforms are ideally suited for speedy time-to-market with proven designs, the ATP-27X is appropriate for exploring next-generation designs,” said Andrew Girson, InHand’s chief executive officer.

The platform is expected to become available in October for $10,000, which will include the reference platform hardware, software, documentation and technical support.
