SEATTLE-Wireless users on Japan’s largest network soon will be able to use in-flight high-speed Internet service aboard Boeing airplanes through a new roaming service, the companies announced Wednesday.
NTT DoCoMo Inc. subscribers with Mzone wireless local area network service can surf the Web and check e-mail via Boeing’s Connexion service. The service fee will be a flat rate that varies from $17 to $30, depending on the length of the flight, and charges will appear on users’ Mzone bills.
The roaming service is already available on some Lufthansa flights; Japan Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines are scheduled to offer the service on selected flights starting in December.
