Wi-Fi Alliances gets tough on pre-standard 802.11n products

AUSTIN, Texas-The Wi-Fi Alliance said it will not certify products with enhancement features for 802.11n, warning that such pre-standard products that fail to interoperate with Wi-Fi will lose certification.

“To help assure that Wi-Fi technology users continue to have a positive experience, the Wi-Fi Alliance will revoke the Wi-Fi certification of any product with claims of IEEE 802.11n capabilities if that product is proven to adversely impact the interoperability of other Wi-Fi certified products,” said the alliance.<
